Bio

Bridie O'Brien is an Australian singer/songwriter/guitarist.

"I remember running my fingers over the strings of a bruised guitar that belonged to my friend's father. It sat in a dark dusty corner of his study. I was very young at the time. I knew instantly, from the warm sound and strange appearance, that this instrument would become my life long love. I quit piano lessons and my uncle gave me a 'Freight Train Heart' tshirt later that week."

Her 2006 debut album 'Soft Side of Dark' was an independent success with national radio and tv air time. Fast forward to 2011 and we see this Blues and Roots artist get her Rock on. She has created a body of work with a delightful raw edge and a much bigger sound than her predecessor.  Bridie's signature vocal delivery slams you straight between the ears. Her wailing guitar and husky voice have been dressed to kill, sonically speaking, by lauded producer Syd Green. ~BB

The album 'Highway Heart' is set to show off this singer/songwriter's ability to deliver an idiosyncratic soundtrack that will pump blood to your heart and move you to smile. 'Highway Heart' is Bridie's second album. The first single is a cover of Rose Tattoo's classic, "Rock n Roll Outlaw". Packed with energetic guitar and powerful vocal deliveries, it is an album about reluctant healing and passionate encounters. Bridie has teamed up with rising star Producer and well respected drummer Syd Green (iOTA, Mantissa, Dirty Lucy, TonksGreen, Stiff Gins). Bridie and Syd's years of experience are evident in their instrumental performances. Her blues guitar and rock n roll heart morph to create a fresh interpretation of the female Australian rock artist. Syd Green's percussive talent marries perfectly with the driving energy of her songs. Syd Green is also credited as producer of this album. The production is personal, punchy, unsafe and all together brilliant.
